Our Big 3

Zpacks Arc Haul Zip 64L

$325

This pack weighs in at 25.5oz and is made of a gridlock fabric that is strong against abrasion and is coated with a urethane waterproofing solution. It has 3 pockets: the main (49L), two side pockets (2.5L), and a front pocket (10L). The two main features that we love about this is the ventilation system for your back and the zipper function that allows for easy access into your pack as if it was a suit case.

Big Agnes Tiger Wall UL3

$500

This tent is a 3 person tent with enough for us to sleep comfortable and have our packs in the tent! It weighs 2lb 15oz and is made of a combination of nylon and polyester material. The rain fly and bottom of tent are water proof. The tent has two doors and vestibules for easy access and no need to climb over the other person in the tent! It has only one collapsible tent pole and 3 pockets on the inside (one overhead and two on either side). We absolutely love this ten! The only con is that the zippers on the fly get stuck easily and it is on the bigger side so we have to get a bigger campsite.

EE Revelation 20 Degree Down Quilt

$280

We both opted for a quilt because of the weight and roominess it allows. It only weighs 22oz and can sleep comfortably to about 30 degrees. We slept in Arizona in 24 degrees with some extra layers and survived, but I wouldn't say it was the most comfortable sleep! The quilt has straps that allow you to connect it to your sleeping pad for more insulation, a drawstring at the top to cinch it by your face and a foot box that cinches at the bottom. The quilt allows me to wrap myself in it as if I was in my bed at home and lays flat in the warmer months so you don't get too hot!

With a year of professional teaching under out belts, we have decided to take a hiatus from our careers to thru hike the Appalachian Trail. Here I will upload pictures, stories, and all things related to the Appalachian Trail. Follow us along as we embark on this journey! #letstrektogether
