7 Days 'Till I Leave and 7 Things I Still Haven't Done

Ah yes the sweet smell of procrastination...This is not a good thing to do when preparing for a 6 month hike, but luckily the things left to do are small. So lets dive in!

1. Write this article.

2. Packed My Pack: Now this is something I've been putting off and really need to figure out. There are the many ways to pack your backpack, but the main things to consider are the accessibility of certain items like rain gear and food. They say to put the heaviest items right in the middle so I will be doing that along with shoving everything else wherever it will fit.

3. Weigh My Pack: Now in order for this to happen I have to pack my pack (oops) and have all of my gear. The weight of your pack is super important because you will be carrying that weight on your back for 5-6 months. The reason I haven't done this yet is because I do not have the last couple items for the trip.

4. Obtain Rain Gear: Now it's not that I haven't started this process! I have ordered my Frogg Toggs, but I am just waiting for it to come in. Hopefully it gets here before I venture to Georgia. If not, I'll be wearing a poncho...oh well.

5. Packed Resupply Boxes: Now this is a bigger task that I have been putting off for a while, but it is on the list to do this week! (Obviously) I have chosen 6 resupply stops where I will be sending food ahead of time in order to save money and get the items I would like! Thanks to some helpful parents, who will be sending them for me, I will be able to get certain things that may not be available in the town!

6. Finish Dehydrating Food: If you haven't already, go check out the post I did about dehydrated food! I have really enjoyed the past couple weeks of dehydrating. For my resupply boxes, I will be adding dehydrated vegetables and fruit to help break up the monotony of the salt, carbs, and tuna creations.

7. Found a Knee Brace: I have learned from my previous trips and hikes that I have pain in my knee when hiking down hill. Now you may be thinking, Molly, why is this the last thing on your list to do? Your body is important and you don't want to mess around with injuries! Well...you're right. I thought maybe if I just ignored the problem it would go away, but that is definitely not the case so I will be going out to get one today.
